Born in London, Jezel was initiated at a young age to painting by her mother who painted still life. After a classical Fine Arts education, Jezel was
particularly inspired by the scenescapes she encountered through travelling. Later, Jezel discovered the need to break away from her Fine Arts classical heritage and express her scenescapes with chromatic lyricisme and emotion.
Jezels’ work is a refection of her life, composed of different cultures, filled with character, light and movement…
Jezel has been living in France since 1992.

“For me, painting is not something that you can define. Personally, I can only speak in terms of the emotions that it generates within me. Painting signifies for me alot of love and passion, an intensity that gives rise to much frustration, as well as fear, as one is obliged to work with one’s inner soul. I think that painting is primarily an affair of sincerity. Perhaps the greatest quality an artist can have is authenticity.” JEZEL
