Ambitious and voluntary, Nora. B is a selfmade woman. From 2000, her devotion to plastic creation has become more intense. She started to exhibit her collages in 2001. An admiring audience would often ask : “ why collage and not painting ? “ as if those collages were meant to be painted on canvas in order to be more existing and true artistic pieces.
Maybe that is the reason why, after two years of collage, she is now painting.
The obvious quality of her work as a collagist and her self-confidence foreshadowed a happy expansion in her search of a growing oddness, as a painter familiar with pigments, color, canvas, marrying vigorous movements, sensitivity and harmony between shape and burden.
She treats the material with a staggering authority. Her creations, clear and bright, striped with blue and now red ochre, prevailed naturally. They suggest silence, but in order to let the hidden parole be heard.
The material in her work is present, thick, vibrant : it makes the light stay in it. Her familiarity with signs is mastered by a sensitivity that refuse swashbuckling.
She has her own sensitivity, her own vision and necessarely her own identity.
