PresentationThe ART(M)ART exhibit explores contemporary art and is a place to discuss art. ART(M)ART’s raison d’être is to introduce the public to contemporary living artists, and is dedicated to art amateurs as well as aficionados curious of discovering new creations and original expressive techniques. With original, colourful and intense pieces of art, the collection brings visitors to an imaginary world.
This year we have gathered art pieces from 14 artists: all very experienced in their respective specialties including painting, sculpting and engraving, through many exhibits as well as competitions and publications. We welcome the public (locals and tourists) in the hope that we can share our emotions and expertise on this vast array of techniques. We also wish to generate and animate many discussions during the opening night and for the duration of the event.
This 2012 exhibit is the second of its kind for ART(M)ART. Similarly to last year, the show takes place in Lacanau Océan, in the inspiring hotel of VITAL PARC, located between the ocean and the forest. This venue is full of charm and offers a calm setting ideal to present original creations realized by experienced, multicultural and even somewhat surprising artists. Annie, an artist herself from ?l’Ecole des Beaux Arts’, discovered all the creators exhibiting through her voyages and exhibits, and Alain, an engineer from ?Arts et Metiers’, supports his wife in organising and bringing together this event.
We want to focus this event on the different engraving techniques from its fundamentals to the most advanced: classic work with a dry-point, or a graver and etching techniques including multi-colour printing (Hayter technique), carborundum technique, and also colour printing realized by hand by the artist.
We also wanted to introduce two younger artists Pauline BETIN, glass sculptor, and Takako HIRANO, japanese engraver.
We wish you a pleasant visit and many discoveries
