Fabien Cayere

All began with a first price with a municipal contest of drawing in Anglet at the 6 years age… then the School of Arts and Communication in Pau where Fabien Cayère discovers argentic photography. A probationary period in an agency of publicity in Bogotà Colombia transmits to him the love of the travel and the discovery.
This desire besides takes it along to Africa where it remains and works on several occasions: in Ivory Coast, in Morocco then in Burkina-Faso.
It creates a photo laboratory in an Institute for the Deaf persons in the 2nd city of Burkina, Bobo-Dioulasso and initiates the pupils with photography.
Of return in France, it is put at the sculpture, works the forms with easy materials that it decides thereafter to make out of bronze in Burkina, country where the artists are very famous.
In Ouagadougou, Fabien discovers the secrecies of the technique of the lost wax which consists in modelling beeswax to draw a refractory ground mould from it containing donkey droppings.
The mould serves only one time since it is broken to release the cooled bronze part. Today, the artist who continues to carve his wax with the workshop of Ouagadougou, carries out characters as varied as from the bullfighters, golfers, the naked ones or of the longboarders.
Its bronze surfers will be the invaluable trophies of the Championship of the World of Longboard Féminin WLC during the Roxy Jam 2007 in Biarritz (France).
